Checo Pérez Confirms He Will Stay in F1

Formula 1 driver Sergio 'Checo' Pérez confirmed that he will not retire this season, despite the rumors. At 34 years old, Pérez is focused on his participation in the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix, although he no longer has a chance to win the championship due to the points difference with the leaders.

He presented his special helmet for the race, which will be held from October 25 to 27 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, inspired by Lucha Libre, a sport deeply rooted in Mexican culture. In a press conference, Pérez shared that his family is a big fan of Lucha Libre, which motivated him to choose that design for his helmet.

'Checo' Pérez's helmet includes details like a red wrestler's mask on the front, the Red Bull logo in blue, and his signature phrase 'Never give up' on the back. The design represents his passion for that sport and his determination on the track.

Currently in eighth place in the Formula 1 World Championship, Pérez hopes to leave behind the bad memory of the 2023 Mexican Grand Prix, when he had to retire from the race on the first lap. Despite the difficulties with his car, he remains focused on giving his best and providing a good show for his country and fans.

The activities for the Grand Prix will begin on Friday, with practice sessions where Mexican Pato O'Ward will also be present. 'Checo' Pérez has confirmed that he will remain in Formula 1, denying the rumors of his possible departure. With a contract in place until 2026, he is preparing for a challenging and opportunity-filled season finale.
